I myself have 0 accounts opened this year, 4 opened last year, and 4 inquiries (last one from September). Maybe I'll give it a shot and hope reconing goes well.

How many inquiries did you have when you applied?
I had 1 from June from an auto loan, 5 from December for an auto loan and then I should of had 2 more for BCE and Freedom. The credit analyst didn't say anything about inquiries - she only asked about my salary and how long I'd been at my job.
I say you should go for it since they care more about inq and recently opened accounts than they care about high credit scores.
