Re: Sallie Mae Mastercard question:

AFAIK, you don't.

I found out about that card AFTER I'd applied and been approved for the BCP - otherwise I think I would've jumped on it instead.

This card along with the Priceline Visa has left me itching to leave the garden Smiley Very Happy

800+ across all three (via FAKOs) has been achieved! Current goal - Get down to 6 cards in total - sitting with 8 currently.

Agree.  It looks like to redeem cash back (as opposed to statement credit) you have to have a upromise account.

I am really looking forward to apping for this in may I believe this will compliment the priceline card of mine fantastically.  I could put all my spending on these two cards alone.

Capital One Quicksilver- $5,400 | Chase Freedom - $8,000 | Chase Freedom Unlimited- $13,000 | Chase Amazon -$5,000 | Priceline Visa -$10,000 | US Bank Cash+ - $18,200 | Fidelity Visa -$10,000 | Sallie Mae- $10,000  | DCU Platinum $12,000 | Discover IT - $10,000 | Amex EveryDay - $25,000  | Amex BlueCash Everyday- $9,800 | Citi DoubleCash - $18,000 | Sapphire Preferred- $13,000 Freedom Unlimited$7,000 Blispay$12,000 | Chase Sapphire Reserve- $18,000 | Consumers Credit Union Visa Sig Cash Rebate$25,000

I think along with your current mix of cards you'd be all set!  Base 2% for everything via your Priceline and 3% or more from your other cards Smiley Very Happy.  I need to get my base 2% card already!  I hate the idea that I'm missing out on that extra 1% using my Amex right now for everyday spending lol

Re: Sallie Mae Mastercard question:

You don't need student loans.

This card is going to be my card of choice, if I'm approved when I apply that is. Its a great card. I made a thread about the card and it seems popularly unknown. I think it is the perfect all in one choice for my needs as college student. Now, if I had a huge income and family, BCP would be one of my major go-to cards. But for now, this card is perfect.

Re: Sallie Mae Mastercard question:

Wonder how loose the scoring criteria is? Starting CL's, inq sensitivity? Is it more like a student card, but not just for students?

Re: Sallie Mae Mastercard question:

I concur with tatterz. Thanks to the thread s/he started last week, I learned about, apped for, and got this card. Am awaiting its arrival right now. Not a student. No student loans. Just a "low-flyer" who thinks the rewards on this card seem to be about the best ever for somebody with simple, basic needs.

I got the BCE just weeks earlier, only to discover that the grocery stores in my area don't take Amex. Had I known about this card earlier I'd have skipped the Amex and gone straight to this one.

Re: Sallie Mae Mastercard question:

General question regarding this card: (And sorry for popping up and old thread, HOWEVER, I don't like making new threads for the sake of one question. Smiley Wink)

Would this card have good chances of approval for someone who only has one Lane Bryant credit card, but has done really well with that and she has basically 0 inquiries across the board? I'm trying to help my friend, and she is so credit card phobic it isn't funny. I'm trying to get her to sign up for the best one, and I'm thinking that this one might be it for her. I don't know super details, but I'm assuming her aaoa might be good based on her student loans (she's paid them all off.) And she just has that one LB account.
