Not everything on Amazon counts as books. Digital game purchases do not count. All physical goods count as books.

There have been exceptions to this, with physical things counting as Computer Services.   Some experienced this buying, for example Whole Foods gift cards, which are physically sent to you, sometimes they were books, sometimes not.

But given that "most" times you get 5%, the odd time you might get 1% doesn't prevent this a great cad for Amazon.

It would be wrong to buy anything other than books with this category. Smiley Tongue

True!  I hope that there are managers at book stores who look carefully at people using the Sallie Mae: "That set of pens.   Not really a book is it?  Yes, technically a bookstore purchase, but seems a bit scammy, so I am not going to allow it."

Yes. What Nixon said. That is MS to do anything otherwise and chase will surely close your sallie Mae account.

That is awesome. Every year I have 90-100 orders through Amazon with multiple items in some of those orders. Man, I need that card.

Just remember the monthly cap.   Now if some months you are under and others you are over: on months where you are under the cap, you can buy amazon gift cards (on Amazon) with the SM, and use those to supplement when the $750 cap is reached.

I'm not a gift card guy. Cap or not, I'm buying on Amazon regardless..so this card would help..

Re: Sallie Mae bookstore question

Sounds like you are allergic to the words "gift cards".   This is nothing remotely unusual.   Amazon  gift cards inj your shopping cart to add to your own account on Amazon for Amazon purchases.  Just helps you get the full $750 per month benefit if some months you spend more and others you spend less.
