Just got my February statement and read the following:
Please note, as of March 1, 2016, we wil no longer assess a Foreign Transaction Fee on your account.
That's definitely good news!
This could be huge for some people... with no FTF using this card overseas for hotels could be quite lucrative! ![]()
Wow! Way to make one of my favorite cards even favoritER! Awesome news, thanks Sunrise!
Edit: I just looked at my statement as well and sure enough...yay! And my cash back check was attached so that was a nice surprise too!
Interesting, I was looking over the Rates and Fees for my dads Sam's MC he got about a week ago, and it didn't mention anywhere about a FTF, I thought it was a mistake, but this is nice!
Wow that is deffinetly nice if you have this card and already shop at Sam's normally.. This might be one of the best cards being no persay AF other then the sam's club AF, but not counting that on the market due to the no FTF

Can you cash the check at a bank or is it only good for purchases at the club?
No FTF's is a nice benefit, that said Sam's MC is a GE/Sync very high APR card so I'm not sure I'd put major oveseas costs on that card if I wasn't able to PIF as soon as I got back. I do like my Sams card and I have a 5 figure CL, but banking the rewards for a year and carrying a high APR keep me from using the card as a daily spender. Don't get me wrong, GE/Sync going to no FTF is going to pressure others to follow suit (FTF charges are such a rip anyway).

It looks like you can cash it at the club, use it for purchases or apply it as a statement credit. It has "void" on it so I doubt you could take it to the bank lol. It also expires after 180 days.
This is an incredible change. One of my hang-ups on getting this card as a travel card for myself for the future was the FTF. This card is definitely on my radar for the future.
