Good question. I noticed my card image changed in online management this morning. Will we have the option to use the old card still or will we have to convert to the new one "IF" they send it out automatically?
It is not automatic. I called first thing this morning and requested a replacement card.

I requested mine via chat upon reading this. I asked the CSR if this will be the new design he said he wasnt sure since Amex will be sending new ones to everyone in June. Im thinking it will be the new card though.
Based in information in another thread, it sounds like new Bonvoy cards will ship in June unless you request one earlier.
I will go ahead and request an upgrade on my current Bonvoy card (old SPG) to the luxury card prior to April 24th. I have been holding out for a bonus and saw the 100k offer when I logged in to my account today. Not sure the luxury card is a keeper though past the first year.

If you have no desire to stay at a Marriott property then you're absolutely right. If you're willing to stay at least one weekend a year then this card pays for itself and then some. A $300 annual credit (which can be used towards room rate/charges) and the 50K anniversary night can easily yeild a $600-700 value or more if you play your cards right. If I never use the card to make a single purchase...and in my situation I don't because all of my Marriott stay goes on SPG Business (or whatever they're calling it these days), I still find myself winning.
So the regular SPG is gone then, only the Bonvoy $450 AF exists?
Might have to app the Bonvoy Biz before 3/28 then.

I was staying in the Marriott Cebu City Philippines every year 2-3 weeks but then they sold the property and list their flag. Big disappointment. They are however opening a new Sheraton resort soon in Mactan
@morgacj2004 Like you I was very disappointed when they sold the property but I'm also very excited to hear that they're working on a new Sheraton; hopefully the September 2019 date is solid. We're in Cebu at least once a year and Mövenpick has been our go-to place since the Marriott property went away.
