I've had my eye on the CSP for a bit now and told myself I'd just go see if I was pre approved, so I spoke to a banker while I was making a withdrawal in the bank.
He said I am pre approved for the CSP.
I'm at 5/24 with being on my girlfriends Venture as an AU, but I've read that in branch pre approvals usually override the 5/24 rule.
Can anyone who's had experience with the 5/24 rule and in branch pre approvals weigh in?
Any and all input on the subject is welcome.
Thanks!
Cheers!

If you can make the spend requirement for the bonus I do not see why not. From what I have read, the 5/24 rule is usually overturned for branch pre-approvals.

Have you checked on the Chase site for a pre-approval on the CSP?
I'd flat out ask them in-branch. Say that you know about the 5/24 rule and that if they're coming up with a pre-approval for you on the CSP, how solid is it?
I appied for the CSP in-branch last month, but I was at 4/24 so I wasn't worried about denial on the basis of the 5/24 rule. The only reason I tried in-branch as opposed to online was that I read that in-branch sometimes you can get a 70k points offer instead of just 50k (the max online). Of course, in-branch, I got just the 50k. It is what it is; mission accomplished and I got the card regardless.
4 in-branch approvals all <5/24. if you can meet $300 x2 you might consider the csr as you would also probably quality for that and you would end up ahead $ wise. good luck!

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying here. Can you reiterate?
I'm interested.
Cheers!

which part? I got a csr, fu, inc & csp later pced to a f all in-branch all pre-approved and all over 5/24. 5/24 means nothing with a pre-approval based on my experence.the csr comes with $ 600 a year in credits, the csp does not. makes an easy decision to get the csr in my book but everyone is different

That's a bit misleading. The credit is $300 a year and people refer to getting $600 in credits vs one $450 AF if they cancel the card after the first year. That aside the CSR is far superior to the CSP

I got 2x $ 300 last year and I will do the same this year. has nothing to do with canceling the card, has to do with the closing date in dec and if one can meet the spend
