Sears Card Called on CHRISTMAS DAY!

This was my mother's CC. If I had a searscard, I would of put it in the shredder after what happened.

This afternoon an automated message called our house informing my mother's searscard bill was due the 24th. My mother called the number back and they said sorry, but it was a mistake on their end.

Still.

1. It's rude to send a robocall for late payment ONE DAY after it was due.

2. It was extremely rude to call on CHRISTMAS of all days.

Farm and Fleet $3,000 (AU) Paypal Extras MC $1,500
Barclay's Apple Visa $1,200 QVC Qcard $800
Amazon Store Card $600 Discover $500
Walmart MC $400 Victoria's Secret $350
Credit One $300 Fingerhut $200

I received an email this morning that my Blink Fitness payment could not be authorized from my CSP, which is due today. I immediately went to the Chase site and lo and behold, an authorization for Blink. Yes...an error on their end. Just now I got an email from them stating "some" members may have gotten a non-payment email in error. What a nuisance!

Re: Sears Card Called on CHRISTMAS DAY!

personally I don't see it as that big of a deal...if she is/was late then lender's do have the right to try and collect...

A little rude, maybe, but not a gamebreaker for me.

Sorry though

And since you are willing to post on a credit card forum the same day....  maybe not such a big intruston!

Re: Sears Card Called on CHRISTMAS DAY!

Blame the computer it doesn't know its Xmas day. I have had this happen before but for other reasons, namely a bunch of bogus charges. I was grateful for the call. Merry Xmas Smiley Happy

Re: Sears Card Called on CHRISTMAS DAY!

Honestly I wish all companies called me when I was 1 day late so if I really was late and I had forgotten to pay, I can now go and pay my bill before I get a ding on my report. Sounds like a win win to me

Re: Sears Card Called on CHRISTMAS DAY!

Maybe it was rude, but hopefully she paid it. Some creditors would probably call any way. I know some have said it's the best time to call because you can almost be sure that someone would be home and answer, and that it was the best time for the person they were calling to ask for money to pay a  delinquent debt. Smiley Indifferent It isn't "nice" but from a business perspective, I suppose it makes sense.
