This was my mother's CC. If I had a searscard, I would of put it in the shredder after what happened.
This afternoon an automated message called our house informing my mother's searscard bill was due the 24th. My mother called the number back and they said sorry, but it was a mistake on their end.
Still.
1. It's rude to send a robocall for late payment ONE DAY after it was due.
2. It was extremely rude to call on CHRISTMAS of all days.
Just checked the caller ID, they called twice today..

I received an email this morning that my Blink Fitness payment could not be authorized from my CSP, which is due today. I immediately went to the Chase site and lo and behold, an authorization for Blink. Yes...an error on their end. Just now I got an email from them stating "some" members may have gotten a non-payment email in error. What a nuisance!
personally I don't see it as that big of a deal...if she is/was late then lender's do have the right to try and collect...
A little rude, maybe, but not a gamebreaker for me.
Sorry though
Kinda amazed someone was there to answer when you called back.
And since you are willing to post on a credit card forum the same day.... maybe not such a big intruston!
Blame the computer it doesn't know its Xmas day. I have had this happen before but for other reasons, namely a bunch of bogus charges. I was grateful for the call. Merry Xmas
Maybe it was rude, but hopefully she paid it. Some creditors would probably call any way. I know some have said it's the best time to call because you can almost be sure that someone would be home and answer, and that it was the best time for the person they were calling to ask for money to pay a delinquent debt. It isn't "nice" but from a business perspective, I suppose it makes sense.
