Re: Sears Card Converting to Shop Your Way Mastercard

I think that thanks to the original card brander the Sears MasterCard has an identity crisis. As soon as Sears became BK'd the rewards on the card became harder to keep exclusive since Sears was not doing anything that they were supposed to based on the existing contract. In the end Citi tried to offer a variant of the TYP program but that just made a split personality. I think with enough time Citi will figure out a workable formula since they are the number 1 issuer of cards worldwide. The good news is that Citi can change the look of the card without everything else very easily and has loads of experience taking over programs from other companies. It is just this time they are taking over a co-branded card and integrating it into their main lineup.
