look for a good credit union in your area. I am a loan officer at my credit union (abri credit union) and we offer 6.15% APR for FICO scores (TU) over 729.
we tell our members to give a 24 hour turn around time but i have given out large limits (max is 25k) if it is justified but yes 6.15% is hard to beat. I have yet to see a lower regular rate. You wouldn't believe the members who come through here at say my 0% APR is up and im getting killed at 22-29% APR. Thats were credit unions come in! Google local credit unions and see what you can find, they really are a nice assett to consumers when big banks aren't so generous. Although you generally won't get an instant approval but we usually, i would say 99% of the time get back to our member same day and usally within the hour.
Also we don't have balance transfer fee's like most cc's have although i belive the chase slate offers a no balance transfer fee and we have a promo rate on all cards of 1.99% APR regardless of credit on balance transfers for 6 months. To give you an idea our auto rates are at .99% APR for A+ paper credit scores (729+ TU) up to 36 months.
Yeah i would check into them and see if there are any reviews on them. My credit union is affiliated with the government (Argonne National Labs) so weve built a good relationship and thats what you want. If all else fails look into it and see what they can offer you so your not killed if you carry a balance on any non into apr cards. Good luck!
CU = low ongoing APR.
I have 3 CU accounts sub 10% lowest being 7.75% through intouchcu, the other 2 are 9.75% and 9.9%
all 3 are over 10K and apporaching 20K.
My lowest card right now is still at 13%. Hopefully I can keep chipping away at them as my FICOs and AAoA increase. Granted I get free BTs through NFCU so don't usually pay interest, but still.
btw we do have a rewards program were point can be used to purchase items on the online shopping mall although many will use the point for cash back so rewards are available at least at my CU.
