I have a few collections on my report and a tax lien that I am paying off. What secure credit card will approve me? Trying to build my credit to buy a house next year.
Public Savings Bank is a good one. They don't care what's on your report--they don't even pull it.
Assuming you have no othet credit cards. i suggest you get 2 secured cards if you want to apply for a mortgage. Try to put down more than minimum if you can.
Among the major banks, these 2 are fairly easy.
HSBC/Orchard has a on site preapproval with soft approval.
Capital One has a good secured card.
If they turn you down Public Savings Bank is your best choice.
I agree with Wolf3. I would make PSB the last on the list, as some creditors have denied people for "Relationship with a creditor that has an associated risk", such as places like Amex (don't know about any mortgage companies), because they know these are places people with bad/risky credit go.
