Re: Secure Visa

First we have to know why your score is what it is.  Do you have baddies on your report?  What TLs do you have.  Car loans, mortgage ect.  Info, lots of info helps people help you.  Good Luck Vicki

Re: Secure Visa

Hi Wild1, when I started working on repairing my credit in January, my EQ was 543.  Not much higher than yours is now!  I applied and received a National City secured card.  They told me they only check CR's to verify your information.  Pretty much everyone gets approved so that's why I went for it.  The AF is $36 (charged $3 mth).

I kind of regret doing it now because since January, I've worked really hard on sending GW letters and getting paid items removed.  Since that time my score has increased and I've been able to get a Cap 1, BoFA 99/500 secured, target red card and an HSBC unsecured with a CL of $1500.  I'm pretty sure establishing a good payment pattern with my first secured card probably helped my score some.

Oh, my CR is alot worse than yours.  I have about 5 paid CO's, many lates and a couple of old collections.  It's all paid and I have no balances on my CC's, but still a lot of baddies!

Good luck!

Re: Secure Visa

GW the lates on the car loan.  Do a PFD with tmobile.  Search in the search box for GW and PFD for samples.  Good Luck Vicki

Edit: And if I were going to try for a secured card I would try BoA, I don't think they charge a fee plus they will grow with you.  Try this site to see if they will pre approve you with only a soft inquiry  https://preapproved.bankofamerica.com/cc/SelfInquiry.aspx.  Good Luck Vicki
