Secured Credit Card Question

I lost my business, got a job then lost it and have been unable to find work for nearly a year so I had to file Chapt BK. It was final Feb 2009.  I need to rebuild credit and wonder which Secured Credit card you folks suggest?  Some are obvious scams but are any better than others?

Thanks...

Re: Secured Credit Card Question

I would suggest to you to do a search of the forums for "secured credit cards"  but in short, it seems the common thought is Bank of America.  Good rates, and will unsecure in 9months with ontime payments, etc:

Ive never had it but I do have several regular BofA accounts and they have always been easy to deal with, good with Credit limits, credit increases, etc:

Re: Secured Credit Card Question

I am currently checking into these for a friend.

BofA-

Wells Fargo-

Us Bank-

Citi Bank-

B of A seems to be rather popular here,Do a search here for B of A secured credit card and there will be a ton of info..

Re: Secured Credit Card Question

WF has been good to me. Started with $1000, at graduation I got $500 CLI.

Re: Secured Credit Card Question

I can second the WF recommendation.  I originally put the minimum $300 then added 200 in January and they gave me a +$100 unsecured increase the following month.  I did the same again a month ago +$300 collateral and they again increased $100 unsecured on the next statement end.  Only about 3 more months and hopefully it will graduate!
