Secured Credit Cards

Hi!!! This is only my 2nd post but I have sooo many questions.  I have a very low score I believe its only around 519, did anyone have a score like this and get approved for a secured credit card?  Looking for anyone who had sucess with getting one with this low of a score. Thank you!!!!

Re: Secured Credit Cards

I opened an unsecured - HSBC, now capital one, with a score in the high 400s about a year ago. High interest rate (tht dropped to 21% after 6mos of good standing) and low limit (300), but it was unsecured. Good luck!

Re: Secured Credit Cards

We had two (helzberg and roomstore) that were reporting as collections. Never know til you try. Check first premier, too..not sure who they're through, but they're worth a shot. Credit one bank is a starter card, too.

I would check out State Department Federal Credit Union. They have a great secured card program and they dont do a credit check. They will not convert to a unsecured but they report as unsecured, have a great APR, and no annual fees, cash advance fees, or forex fees.

You should settle these before opening a secured card.   The deposit is a savings account and if you are sued and lose, it can be taken in a judgement.
