Secured card Merrick

Hello

this is my first post. Like all of you I am working hard to improve my score/report.   My Husband died last minth after almost 2 years of battling Cancer. He was unable to work the last year of his life.  We were renters the past three years.  Im looking to purchase a small home in near future.  I recently paid of a Parent Plus loan of over 20,000.00  and also paid off  5 medical collections with a letter of promise to delete.  I did this because i will be taking on a mortgage myself and so seeing that i wint have a dual incime i wanted to lower my debt to incime ratio.  I need a credit card.  Right now my scores range from 571 to 623.  These scores do not yet relect the paid Parent Plis loan nor the credit collections that are supposedly going to be deleted.  I have only 5 payments left on my auto and 75.00 a month on another student loan with a balance of 2,600.00

i need a credit card and am willing to do a secured with a deposit of at least $1,000.00. I need to know which cards report to all 3 bureaus and will take my scores

thank you

Re: Secured card Merrick

I am sorry for your loss and I lost my sister-in-law to breast cancer not too long ago.

Have you checked the pre-qualifier on Capital One yet?  If not, please do that.

Re: Secured card Merrick

Capital One's prequalifier.  Go to Capital One's website, click on the "credit card" tab, scroll all the way down, click on "Find Out In 60 Seconds".  Enter your info, and it checks for any prequalified offers from Cap One without doing a hard pull on your credit report.  And if you do qualify for any cards, it will let you know, but once you do apply, it will result in a hard pull.

Re: Secured card Merrick

Welcome to the forums, triton, and I am sorry for the loss of your husband.

Reagrding secured cards, Citi has a secured card program in additional to the Capital One secured card program mentioned, and some members seem to have had success with it. Scores may be an issue.Try Capital One first and see how that goes. Best of luck moving forward, you are doing the right things. Smiley Happy
