Sensitivity of Barclay's

Has anyone successfully applied for another card shortly after they got the apple card without raising a red flag with them.  I ask because i'd like to pull the trigger on the Discover More after just getting the Barclays last month so that my INQ's can drop off at the same time next year and i can just relax in the garden soaking up some rays!!

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

People will tell you that that is like pulling the tigers tail. From what I have read here, I would wait for a few more months at least. I have had Barclays a long time, and I have no experiece with apping right after getting it, so I am basing this solely on things I have read here on the boards.

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

With my head hung in shame, I admit to aquiring several cards after my Barclay's card and did not receive a credit limit decrease (or increase Smiley Sad) nor did I experience them closing my account.  But like every other credit issue - YMMV

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

I racked up a bunch of cards after Barclay's because I was unaware of their extra sensitive reputation.  This is month 5, so I'm anxiously awaiting my fate.  I understand, they do a review around 6 months...so I'm hoping if I get past that review...I could go back to my normal routine of appingSmiley Very Happy

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

Apped for barclaycard finance card around 28th of Dec. '11. Apped and received 4 cards at around 1 per month since then.  Just apped for the Ring and approved a few weeks ago.

They approved me for the Ring so that's a good sign... um... riiiggghhhtt?

Crossing my fingers.

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

Some people haven't had any AA taken against them even when they have opened other accounts shortly after opening a Barclay card.   But some people have had their accounts closed down, so if you decide to app just be prepared to fly under the radar for a while.  Don't ask for CLIs, or do anything else to get their attention.

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

I opened 3 new cards and 1 auto loan within 6 months of having the card and no AA. From what I've read people usually receive the AA after reconning a CLI request (with new reported accounts). I think the fear is more fantasy than reality. If you open a seperate account I wouldn't hound Barclay's about a CLI shortly after apping it looks like your desperate for extra credit.

They should review new accounts monthly for the first several months of obtaining their cards.

ETA: They usually soft TU and EX CRs.

I, personally, haven't seen any soft pulls from them in the past 4 months.  I guess I started the cycle over again with the 2nd barclaycard. Just great.  Another 6 months of nail biting.  ;-)

Re: Sensitivity of Barclay's

I'm going to bring this up on their Ring forums and see how they respond to it.
