Just did this a few days ago with my Freedom Flex, first time in a few years. The visit shows up, but no order is recorded, although my credit card has been charged and the order arrived. Just spent far too long talking to the CSR and supervisor. I'm looking for 82 UR, or a massive $1.23 with the Reserve, so 45 minutes was too long, especially with no success yet!
I find a number of threads complaining around 2015, have people been more successful with this lately?

I did shop through Chase a few times. Took about a week for URs to show up
It varies as sometimes Shop through Chase notifies you about the points instantly and in other cases it can take several days.
Rakuten I find is more instantenous/reliable. If they do miss a charge you can input the totals you paid into a bot and they'll add the points into your account.
Chase's portal has quite a few steps to it and won't trigger unless everything is performed right.
I've used it multiple times and Im not sure it was ever instant for me. It seems to take up to 2 weeks before acknowledging it. With that being said, I haven't ever had one go missing.

If it still doesn't show up, I'd recommend sending a secured message via Chase portal rather than calling. I've had it happen where points didn't show up a couple of times and support credited me the points after the fact.

Yes, I realized later secure messaging was going to be easier (the instructions tell you to call, but...) It was annoying to be told twice, once by CSR and once by supervisor, that the charge had posted to my cc account. Yes, I know, and the stuff is here, not my point!

You said : "People who call when they don't have to are raising cost for the rest of us"
Yup, you said that. You did.
You did.

Well, someone using my user id did anyway! OK, it was probably me, but THIS time there are 81 URs at stake! Well worth 45 mins of their time to maybe fix.
Don't be too surprised if they add an AF to the Freedom Flex to compensate.
Follow up: After my secure message was sent to another department, today I heard that the have agreed to give me 118 points (apparently later there was a 4x offer rather than the 3x I saw at the time). So 118 rather than the 81 I wanted.
So I closed all my Chase cards as I don't want to work with such an easily cowed issuer.
Shop thru Chase sounds just as bad as Rakuten, the only cash back I ever get without having to contact them is Ebay, seems no one else I use bother to follow through.
