The wife got the popup for the NY&C card, asking only for last 4-digits. She applied and got the "under review" message. Does this mean it will result in a hard instead of a soft pull?

I'm curious of what you are asking... I have a NY&C card too. I've been trying to get a credit line increase for a month and nothing yet. Can you explain your question?

This happened to me with the Express Card which is through the same bank. I did the shopping card trick, got the pop up but got the 7-10 day message. I did get a letter in the mail to call in to verify my identity. After that I was approved. Good luck!

What's the shopping cart trick? Is it a SP or HP?
They may need to verify her information. Good Luck!

When you are going through the checkout process and an offers pops up saying you are prequalified for the merchant's credit card, pre-screened offer. Most people are approved instantly. I always have to verify something, never happens for me unfortunately. Should be soft pull unless they come back with the 7-10 waiting message and you get some sort of letter requiring some verification. They might have to do a hard pull. It all depends on the individual.

The shopping cart trick has been explained in depth throughout the forum. You can do a quick search and find tons of info on it. It is usually a SP with the exception of comenity visa or mastercard cc's
