I apped for AMEX 2 weeks ago, for the green charge card and Everyday Card, declined on both. The letter stated that my Fico was 653 at the time. Some of the reasons listed for denial were, no installment loans, 1 collection account, not enough accounts paid as agreed.
I just checked my Fico on here again and my score is now 709 with no collections, still no installment loan. Should I wait a little longer or just go for it?
I would wait a few months or call the backdoor number and discuss your denial.

Called the EO office and they told me to wait 30 days to re-apply with the updated scores, guess that's what i'll do.
Are you sure you're looking at the same report? AMEX should have pulled EX. I find it strange that it says 1 collection and myFico says no collections. Did you just have it removed due to dispute? Correct me if I'm wrong, but werent you on another thread talking about pending disputes?
I was approved both cards from AMEX with EX Fico @ 665 and the only badies are a set of lates on a student loan from 2010. Many "new" accounts. If the collections is removed, I'd only be concerned with the "not enough accounts paid as agreed." How many accounts are not paid as agreed and how long ago?

Yes, I had a collection fall off my TU report this past Sunday(still have one showing) , on 7/31 i bought my reports from MYfico and had two collections on TU and one on EX. I sent a DV recently for a collection that was on both TU and EX. Today I bought my reports again and only TU is showing the collection.
My EX FICO went up to 709 from 653
My TU FICO went up to 640 from 581
EX is howing no collections and TU is showing one which i'm hoping to do a PFD.

Hi Avada!
Not trying to thread jack, but I was looking at your signature and I noticed you have the same Cap1 card I had when my old HSBC was converted over. How come you don't upgrade that one to QS?

Good luck! How long do you have until the last one falls off?

Didn't realize I could have two quicksilvers! I suppose I could. I really don't use my Capital One cards other than a charge here and there to keep them active. Really wish CapitalOne allowed limit transfers so I can downsize without taking a utl hit.

Yes you can. I just converted a regular platinum card two weeks ago because I figured since they don't combine limits, I may as well have another QS that will give me rewards as well. Hopefully faster than the previous card. I did it over chat and it was easy and painless. Also, you can get a custom image on the QS and from what I've read, the numbers are raised (if the cheap design bothers you).
