Should I apply now or wait..

I just applied a week ago for AMEX Blue Cash and was approved. Im trying to decide if I should go ahead and apply for Chase Freedom card or just wait a while. Ive got like $82//1,150 on my LB//WNNB card and $500// 2,250 on my Capital One card.

Hi, welcome to the forums!

Well, if you don't have any negatives, especially ever with Chase (or WaMu or Providian), you might want to app for the Freedom before the Blue reports. Chase will probably pull EQ instead of EX, so they won't see the AmEx inq. (I'm rusty here, so I'm perfectly prepared for a ton of posts telling me that I'm wrong. Smiley Very Happy)

Then I would stop. Smiley Happy Let the two new cards report for at least 6 months before doing anything else. You have a perfectly fine collection of cards now, despite whatever advice you might soon be getting. Smiley Wink

If the inqs are on different reports, it doesn't matter.

Inqs only count on the report being pulled. Smiley Happy

What does matter is the presence of a new account, and since AmEx is famously slow to report new accounts, it's a good time to jump in and pick up another, before the AmEx shows up, which it will do on all three reports.

But I would definitely stop after the Chase and let the dust settle.

Re: Should I apply now or wait..

Depends on what you want to use it for.

Freedom- Cashback on ordinary things (though it changes quarterly)
Sapphire- Cashback on dining. Seems like a card for those on the go and those who like to dine a lot.

Barclaycard Apple Financing (2100), Discover More (2500), US Bank Visa Platinum (2000), CFNA (2200), Chase Freedom (500), Capital One (1500), HSBC Platinum Master Card (750), Nebraska Furniture Mart (1000)

Re: Should I apply now or wait..

Im going to pay off the balances on my other 2 cards next week but my statements for both wont be reported until 3/16. Do u think the AMEX will show up by then and count against me, or will the fact that I have 0% utilization negate that all together?

Re: Should I apply now or wait..

It will be pushing it by waiting that long.  My BCP reported in just a couple weeks.  I say your fine.  Amex is usually E and Chase EQ, I say go for it.
