Re: Should I call Discover?

I have carried some form of a balance on my Discover for the better part of 2 years. I have a 1800 balance with a max of 2k now. Paying interest. I am going to try to call today to see if I can finally get a CLI. Transunion score is 660

Starting Score:TransUnion: 698 (12 FEB 2010), Equifax: 674 (12 FEB 2010)
Current Score (Lender Pulled):TransUnion: 684 (12 SEP 2016), Equifax: 696 (12 SEP 2016), Experian: 679 (12 SEP 2016)
Goal Score:All scores All scores at least 700+ by December 2017!!

Re: Should I call Discover?

My card started (and is still at) $1k and when I asked about a CLI, they said they really can't do anything until the 6 month mark. YMMV, of course. But it didn't sound like a typical Peggy response to me, both reps I spoke to (once before getting my card, once when I called to activate it) made it sound like your starting CL is pretty much set in stone.

Re: Should I call Discover?

Wouldn't actually paying the balance help you a ton more than just tacking on a higher limit?  I mean your Utilization is pretty high no?

If you're asking me, you would be incorrect. I just got approved for this card and haven't even actually received it yet, but I'm disappointed with the starting CL of $500 and wondering if I should call and ask for an increase already.

Overall my util is very low...all cards paid off except for a small balance on my Citi card (~$200/$4,000).
