Should I close or keep open? Help!!!!

Hello,

Quick question?  I have an HSBC Plat Visa with a cli of $400.  I have had it for a year and I was just charged the AF of $59.  Called the backdoor number this morning to get the AF waived and they said no go. 

Would it hurt to pay off this card and close it or should I leave it open for another year based on my account history below?

What would be best?

My current cards are I have are as follows:

NFCU nRewards Visa (opened 3/2008)  $4K limit

Juniper Plat MasterCard (opened 1/2008)  $600 limit

Credit One Plat Visa (opened 3/2006)   $600 limit

Orchard MasterCard (opened 4/2004)  $300 limit

HSBC Plat Visa (opened 3/2007) $400 limit

Cit Bank/ICON Fitness Card (opened 3/2007) $2400 limit

Other Loans:

NFCU NavCheck LOC $2500 limit

Student Loan $6200

if you are already owing the a/f keep it open until it comes due again.  If not close it as it really won't affect your aging that much.  HSBC will not grow with you.

IF you close it within 30 days of the AF- they will refund it.

Thanks for the advice.  I didnt know that I could get the AF refunded.  I will pay it off next week and close the account.

I would close it HSBC will not grow with you.

I will close it!!!!....  seems to be the common idea with HSBC...
