Should I combine my HSBC Cards?

I have HSBC Visa $500 / Orchard MC $500 / HSBC Discover $1000.

Visa / MC is 12 months in age. Discover 4 months in age.

I am thinking of closing visa/mc and see if I get CLI on Discover for that amount.

Should I do it, or leave the cards the way they are for another year or two and let the accounts age?

Any suggestions?

Re: Should I combine my HSBC Cards?

See if you can get cli on V/MC before you try to combine them. Even if you can not combine the V&MC onto the Discover with combined cl, try just combining the V & MC into 1 card. Also tell them that you want to keep the longest account history of the cards that you combine. If you combine them onto Discover tell them that you want the account age of which ever is older out of your V & MC.

You are right Timothy. I'll leave these cards alone for now and let them age and come to use at some time in the future.

Re: Should I combine my HSBC Cards?

FWIW, when I tried to do this they told me that the HSBC Discover card couldn't be combined with any typical HSBC card because of some reason with the underlying banks or something.
