That's good you were able to make the $2K payment. But this tells me you're a revolver and not a transactor. AmX loves transactors.

What is a transactor? Thanks in advance!

Revolver - carries balance

Transactor - pays in full

I read the whole thread and find the information interesting. I just cant figure out what "AA" stands for.

Re: Should I request a CLI after AA?

It stands for adverse action. An issuer closing your account or reducing your credit limit are forms of adverse action.

Re: Should I request a CLI after AA?

I've been a transactor for almost a year with them now and can't get a CLI to save my life. I left a small balance last month to see if I can make something happen. (will pay it all in full this month though.)

The balance after the payment is $1900 with a $9300 limit. I also have $1065 coming off because some travel plans were cancelled due to Covid-19 and I am getting a refund. The balance at the time of the credit line reduction was almost $4000. You are right, the last few months my behavior has been that of a revolver but that has not always been the case. This month I will pay it down to zero and continue to pay it off every month. My Fico score is currently 690. It took a dip due to my overall utilization going just over 30%. That too will change by the end of my current statement period on all of my cards.

Sounds like a good plan. Thumbs-up to you.

Getting a CLI depends on several factors, not just being a transactor:

  1. DTI
  2. # of recent inquiries (last 3/6/12 mos.)
  3. # of new accounts (last 3/6/12 mos.)
  4. FICO scores
  5. usage
  6. Utilization (individual CCs and aggregate)

2,3 and 5 are YMMV😂

I've added over 30 lines in the last

24 months. 5 of which don't report.

Had 15 inqs just on TU since Jan 2019.

Synchrony gave me a SP CLI this month of $4500. And received a letter yesterday from State Farm Bank.

Congratulating me on my fantastic payment history of the Visa Rewards CC.

I've put 50 cents on it over the last 10 months since obtaining the CC.

All thanks to Amazon gift card reload!😆

The limit started at $1000. Planned to use it to pay auto and home policy, but was put off by the SL.

By the way, SF isn't known for high SLs or limits in general.

Now at $4000.

Sooo, basically there's no rhyme or reason to CLIs or approvals.

No magic score, no magic inqs number or how many lines report or don't report , no AZEO mumbo jumbo.

OP if you want a CLI ask for it. All they can do is say no.

The secret sauce to a strong profile is not being afraid of denials. That's the only constant I've seen.

OP, if you feel comfortable requesting a CLI after a CLD/AA, I say go for it; and GL2U.
