I'm just curious, because my scores are high, but the file is thin. I was thinking of calling CITI to discuss to see which card I could/should app for.
Do people do this? Advisable? I'd like to get a CITI thank you rewards card or one of their diamond/sapphire/whatever it is cards.
750, i would just app for the dimond; it has a good intro 0%.
787* lol, yeah u should be a shoe in, insta approval on almost every card. chase slate is a good blance transfer right now too.
hit up citi/chase, and do recons if they deny; no reason for a deny with a high 700's... what was the reason for the veture plus deny?
My situation is probably a bit different but I'll chime in. I applied after six months of credit history on a capital one card for the citi forward back in february and was denied (unsuccessful recon too) for having too thin of a file. I know pretty much ever caard company outsources, but I was pretty put off by how poor the customer service rep for Citi was. She clearly read off a script and her command of english was sub par.
They want at least two tradelines open and with good payment history before granting approvals.
At that point, I'd probably be looking for another card issuer.
See if there is a specific airlines you tend to fly and if there is a card for that specific airline.

Just curious,
Looking at your sig lines, how did you go to over 200 pts on your scores in 4 mos? Did you have a major derog drop off or were you just not using your credit? I know this is probably a question that should be on the rebuilding forum but couldn't help but to notice the drastic change in your scores...
Wow, that is what I call awesome progress!
. I am an AU on my DH Crap 1 card and he has mid 600 scores and they have not budged on the CL ($750) since he opened it in 2008. Every time he calls to ask for a CLI, they give him BS answers on why it is not able to be increased. We had x1 30 day late payment in 7/2011 otherwise perfect payments, never over the limit and they will not do a GW remove (bastads...can you believe that)....Congrats on your scores, your hard work paid off!
