Should I try CSP before AMEX 3X?

Hey guys! I love this forum so much! I am really appreciated all your help!Smiley LOL Today my SPG is reported to the Experian, since it is back dated to Jan 2013, I finally get a real fico score! it showed 713!!Smiley LOLLove you guys!

I really want to apply for CSP since I saw a lot of success with short History and NO 5K CL, although I know it is a long short.

My 61 AMEX day is Feb 21, but I really doubt Amex will grant me, since almost all my CL are from AMEX now. Maybe I should try a CSP and then try AMEX 3X?

I know either way is long short, but which is a little more reasonalbe? CSP after 3x or 3X then try CSP?

Here is my report detail:

1.Credit Length: AAOA 4 months, longest card 1 year 1 month ( SPG backdated)

2. Usage: Discover 10 dollars and BCP 40 dollars reported (there was a pending charge on Discover during cut day, I should have push paymentSmiley Sad).

3. Income : Only really made 3K a year ( grad student), have access to family support funds and have official documents about support and bank statement,

If that counts, 50K a year. I will graduate soon and my job offer is in low 100K and will start in Oct this year.

4. History with Chase: Only got freedom 3 months ago, first month 2000+, second and third month about 500. Have checking and saving with them about 1.5 years and pay

all tuitions and daily expense via their checking account.

Do I stand a chance with CSP or can I call recon and have some good reasons? Since I really want to use that card for travel and wedding abroad.Smiley Sad

I'd say order them based on importance to you.

How about my chance?

No idea.  You really just have to go for it.  I don't know all the details of your credit and I'm not an AmEx underwriter.

Re: Should I try CSP before AMEX 3X?

I would do AMEX 3X first since it's a SP. They will counter offer if you don't qualify for full 3X.  Wait till that AMEX CLI reports and then try CSP if you want.

Also, the phrase you might have meant to use is "long shot" as opposed to "long short"...

I think its best you wait a couple months to apply for the CSP.  From your profile, we can see you've just opened up 5 cards within the last 3 months.   You would be much better off building relationships with these creditors and trying to get CLI's when available.  Once you've built up your credit limits, especially with AMEX and maybe Discover, Chase will be more willing to extend you additional credit.  If they only gave you $600 for the freedom 3 months ago, I doubt seriously they will approve you for the CSP at this point.  I would suggest, going for the AMEX 3xCLI this month and then again in July on the same card before app'ing for the CSP.

Congrats on your pending new job. IMO, you should wait on the CSP, since you received the Freedom only 3 months ago with a low initial CL. You may not qualify for the minimum $5K CL that the CSP requires. Your stats are still "fresh," so you need to age your accounts a bit. The best of luck to you.
