Should I try to get a credit limit increase on initial limit?

Was recently approved for 1.2k on a chase freedom card. It's my highest balance but I just got rid of all my delinquent accounts and have had a capital one for 2 years paid on time constantly.

Would asking for a better limit be stupid?

How does chase work with Cli over time?

Re: Should I try to get a credit limit increase on initial limit?

I'd like to have more to be honest. 1.2 is my highest but my scores are pretty decent. The only thing messing me up is that my EQ file was split up into 2 and that's being disputed as of now.

Reading some things I see people with lower scores getting higher credit limits. I'd be fine with 3k

Anyone else have any experience with this?

If your in the middle of a dispute i would wait till thats done. I have heard some mixed reviews about lenders when something is being disputed. Score isn't everything Smiley Tongue its the profile. What does your profile look like?

Re: Should I try to get a credit limit increase on initial limit?

Have had a capital one secured which is what I started with, 2 years as of last month always on time payments and no delinquents on any reports. 750 limit just got a Cli from the 200 dollar secured.

Walmart credit card just got it last month. 300$(score was much lower last month)

That's it for cards.

It's reporting 40% because I used a bonus offer from the Walmart credit card (recently dropped it to 30%, not reported yet) and I have an aaoa of one year

AAOA is a little low is that including the chase card? I think once your dispute on your report is done even though they will most likely pull EX i believe but just in case, you would have a better shot at it. Do you have low inqs? Forgot to ask about that one.

Yeah that's including the chase cards. I have only 4 hard inquiries on file
