Hey every1!!! its been a while! My question is what type of credit does it require for you to have a Chase Sapphire not preferred just Sapphire card. Also could you request it to be a mastercard?? My sister currently has a EQ FICO of 679 with a high UTL and as soon as she pays her balances off EQ TU and EX should RISE, according to Equifax.com her AAOA is 2 years 5 months on both EQ and TU but her EX will be 1 year of AAOA in April (tommorow) with her 9 inquries touching the 1 year markdown EQ has 4 inq. Tu has 6 and they are all touching 1 year markdown on APRIL 2013 TU FICO is 670 and EX PLUS is 633 since she has 9 inq.and high UTL but once lowering them it will forsure rise. she has Old Navy $1,300 CL(opened April 2012), American Eagle $1,250 CL(opened April 2012) (requesting cli/pressing luv botton in april for them both) Chevron $1,100 CL(opened April 2012), Macys $300 CL(Opened April 2012), Sport Chalet VISA Platinum $3,000 CL(opened February 2012) and LOWES (AU) $8,500 CL reporting acct open since April 2003 which only reports to EQ and TU not EX. What you guys think?? Her plans is to upgrade BOTH AE and ON once VISA offer is offered and wants to convert macys storecard to an AMEX, increase Sport Chalet VISA from $3k $5k so it can convert to VISA SIGNATURE, leaving her to apply for DISCOVER IT and Chase Sapphire MasterCard, Nothing else.
Oh yeah!! WE LOVE APPLE PRODUCTS and would like the Apple VISA card.
It's good to see that your sister is making progress and has credit goals for the future!
Discover IT is very popular, and I agree that if you love Apple products, the Apple Visa is good to have.
Is there any particular reason she would like the Sapphire vs. the Sapphire Preferred? If it is just for the dining, the Chase Freedom has 5% cash back at restaurants this quarter and also comes in a Mastercard version.
@sengpatt thanks! One is that Sapphire Preffered has an AF that is ok but not really needed especially since we dont fly on airplane and have never been on one either And well the sapphire card would fit since we eat at restaurants and would be used when we dine out. Also Discover IT will be like her chase freedom. If that makes sense.
Basically she wants to have each network so far it would be 4 VISA's, 1 MasterCard, 1 DISCOVER, and 1 AMEX(MACYS AMEX)
@webhopper Thats great!! but she wants a mastercard no more VISAs. Have looked at other mastercards and their rewards arent that appealing.
Hmm can you have both Sapphire and Freedom MC?? Also according tio the info I have provided What are her chances of being approved?? Once UTL lowers her income is $18,500 and shes 19.
what does chase not like in a credit report??
To get the MC version of the Sapphire: Chase Sapphire
You can get the Freedom as a MC too. Easiest way is apply from Mastercard's site. If you already have it, then you'd have to request it from Chase. Or possibly get a second card. I think I've read people have had 2 Freedoms - one Visa, one MC.
Edit: To make absolutely sure you get a Sapphire MC, go here and scroll down to the Sapphire. Click apply that way. My first link was from that apply button but I don't want something screwy to happen and you not get the correct card.
