@Anonymous wrote:Trick question lol. Cap 1 is one of my oldest creditors and I have both. I think the confusion is that Quicksilver is the not the same as Quicksilver One. I want to say at first I had a fee on my first quicksilver one card. After a year with the card my credit was recovering and I was not going to pay them a fee. I called them up and asked for a product change to quicksilver. They said they could not do a PC but would change my account to no fee and I want to say that is when it changed to a Master Card World card. The regular quicksilver has now aged to a Visa Signature card. I am going back years at this point and I want to say that the quicksilver one expires in June so I should be getting a new card soon so things might be changing... I should hit them up online and ask for a PC to Master Card World Elite because why not lol.... YMMV
They have gone back and forth throughout the years. Previous to Feb. '20, the QS was issued as a Visa if your SL was<$5,000, or a Visa Signature if your SL was>$5,000. Now all QS cards seem to be issued as a WEMC regardless of SL. QS1 is, and always has been issued as a platinum MC.
My wife and I both got approved for a Quicksilver card this year, my credit limit is under $5,000 and is simply a "World" card, hers has a limit over $5,000 and is a "World Elite" card.

That's a good DP, thanks! I've read a couple of $300 approvals for the QS recently that seemed to result in WEMC. Wonder what causes the difference? We'll probably never know.
Something in the decision of how the ABS is funded that they use for the card, maybe? Probably something way beyond my understanding.

Interesting indeed.
FWIW, my card has the classic Red/Orange MasterCard logo on the back side, her card has an all silver MasterCard logo.
To be more specific about our data points, my "World" card has a limit of $3,000, her "World Elite" card has a limit of $6,000.

Both. I have changed two cards (a Platinum and a VentureOne, originally a Venture) into Quicksilvers. Ventures are issued as Visas. ![]()

Based upon all currently available metrics, I'm betting you PCed those cards prior to 2021. The question in my mind remains, come card replacement time, will they be reissued as a MasterCard (which will require a new credit card number), or will they continue to be issued as a Visa?

The VentureOne was switched over a few weeks ago, well into 2021. It's still a Visa.

But aren't all Venture cards still Visa anyway?

Exactly. The point is you can trasmute a Venture into a Quicksilver through PC and have a Quicksilver Visa card. ![]()

I wouldn't say "all" Venture cards. I'm fairly sure there are some in circulation that are MC/WMC/WE.
When they were flip-flopping networks (back in the day and before account combos ceased - pre 2021), I had a Venture WMC that eventually converted to WEMC. I'm fairly sure it would've stayed as WE today despite Capital One switching Venture CCs to V/VS.
