So, when should I app with Juniper again?

I app'd with Juniper about 2 months ago. Tried 3 recons and still a no-go. They said that my BK wasn't the factor in the denial. It was the fact that I had no recently established revolving accounts since I had filed. Well, I filed in '03 and didn't finish my Ch 13 plan until '08 (you are not allowed to acquire new debt while in the plan). So, Juniper was one of the cards I tried to get fresh out of BK.

I now have 3 CCs and 2 are reporting accurately (still waiting on WaMu). I've seen major score increases since I got these cards, but would really like to get a Juniper CC. How long should I wait before I app again? Are they picky about inquiries? Besides theirs, I have 2 inquiries on my TU CR. That Carnival SeaMiles CC looks pretty gosh darn good to me! Smiley Happy

FICOs 7/13/08

TU - 682 (from 653)
EQ - 686 (from 649)
EX - 694 (from 609)

Watch out 700 Club. Here I come!

They are a strange crew. I would wait at least a year if I were you. Actually it might be best just to find another issuer.

Sorry.  $20 balance on a $500 CL, which is why it's hitting the shredder soon.

What do you like about the Seamiles card, out of curiosity?  Is it the rewards program?

Yep. I do like the rewards program. Plus the fact that it's a Mastercard. I don't have any at the moment.

Why such a low CL? How are they with CLIs?

My CL is low because it was one of the first cards I got when I started rebuilding.  My credit was horrible at the time, so I can't say I blame them.

However, in the meantime, my credit has improved a great deal.  I'm giving them until the 13-month mark to see if they will grow with me.  If not, I'm dumping them.

They don't take customer-initiated CLI requests, but many people report auto-CLI after 12 months.

Edit to add: Some have gotten auto-CLI after only 6 months, too.

I emailed and asked for a CLI. They said yes and call a certain number..... I did, and got me a $1K CLI for myself, and an accidental $1K for DW

Re: So, when should I app with Juniper again?

I called the back door number for Barclay's Bank and asked about my chances of being approved if I app'd again in about a month. I was told that they keep the CR on file for 90 days and I should call back in a month when I have more reporting on my recent CCs. I'm curious, though, about this 90-day policy. Does that mean they'll use the same CR for 90 days and if I app again within those 90 days, they'll do a soft pull instead of a hard? Not quite sure how it works. Any answers on this?

Re: So, when should I app with Juniper again?

I was told the exact same thing by the rep I talked to when I called to recon the Jo Ann's Mastercard.  However what she said to me was they wanted to see how I paid on my other cards for about 9 months before trying again.  I recently opened up a bunch of stuff including B of A and although that card wasn't specifically mentioned, it was inferred that they wanted to see how I paid on that card.

So after my mortgage in March  2009 I am apping for a new car (mine is desperate, 99 Taurus) and Jo Ann's!!!  Smiley Happy
