Besides the two you mentioned, Capital One and Spiegel.

WaMu also has a preapproval form, but you have to create a user name on their website first.

CapOne doesn't count.  They don't do a soft pull.  They ask you to categorize your credit as "poor/lacking", "above average","Good", and "Excellent."

Never heard of Spiegel.  Do you have a link?

BTW, CapOne is a soft pull.  I don't know why they ask you to estimate your own credit rating, but I've checked that page every few weeks, using a different credit rating each time.

They offer me the same cards with the same terms every time, whether I say I have "Excellent" credit or "Needs some improvement."

Re: Soft Pull Preapproval Besides HSBC and BOA?

Wow, I stand corrected.  I just tried CapOne with Excellent and poor and it gave me the exact same options.

About the Spiegel and all the other cards, World Financial Network National Bank's website http://www.wfnnb.net/ is still under construction.  Gives me great faith in that company if they don't even have a functioning website in this day and age.  Plus, I just don't clothes shop unless I happen to be at Fred Meyer (known by those that live in the Northwest) or Sears...you know, one stop shopping.  It was pretty funny when I heard them talking about EB in the above-listed post and I thought EB Games.  Eddie Bauer didn't even come to mind.  I was all excited.

Anyone else know of more soft-pull preapprovals?

Yikes, stay away from WFN if you can! My J.Crew card from heck is mismanaged by them, and you wouldn't believe what I have to go through to get anything to show up on my reports. I finally had to dispute balance, so that the CRA's would show that the card is being used, and then I paid it off. Now the CRA's don't show that it was paid off, so I guess I'll have to dispute balance again to get the $0 balance to show. sheesh

They claim that they report every Friday, and that the bureaus take 60 - 90 days to update (funny, not true of any other of my TL's.) Any they don't even create a statement until a charge has been lying around for 3 weeks or so. Just the weirdest site I have ever been on! Smiley Tongue

Anyway, sorry for the OT. I haven't heard of any other soft preapprovals.

Re: Soft Pull Preapproval Besides HSBC and BOA?

OK, so I'm bored and avoiding housework, and I decided to play with the HSBC site (no, don't want one of theirs!) Anyway, it's not really clear that this is just a soft, although it does sort of look that way. But at the bottom of the first page is this:
Notice:
By completing the Pre-qualification Form and clicking on the Continue Application button, you are giving HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A. or HSBC Bank USA, N.A. written authorization to access your credit profile for Pre-qualification purposes and no other.
So, this "access your credit profile for Pre-qual purposes and not other" --that means a soft with a -PRM prefix, right? It's really, really not a hard?

kinda poking at the anthill, here! Smiley Wink

Re: Soft Pull Preapproval Besides HSBC and BOA?

No hard inquiry has ever shown up when I have done it on TC.  And I did it 3 weeks ago for kicks.  My Chase inquiry showed up instantly.   Although, nothing decent popped up, so I left with my tail between my legs.  I already have a pretty good card through them, though.  Unlike a lot of people on this forum, I'm pretty satisfied with my HSBC experience.

You did it through TC? You mean one of the ads over on the side when you pull your TrueCredit reports?
