Sorry to add another CAP 1 Secured question

I'm rebuilding and wanted to get a cap 1 secured card, but applied and was denied. I got my letter today, and was told that the reasons for denial were lack of new accounts and inquiries. Shockingly they didn't refer to my other baddies, but my inquiries are mostly due to a search for an auto loan and of course I'm unable to get new accounts because of my scores.

I know cap 1 isn't big on recons but what do you think might be the best method or should I just wait as about 6 inquiries should fall off in April?

I've heard some people have success with a recon going through the EO with Capital one. Since you already took 3 HPs then it couldn't hurt to give it a try.

Is that through e-mail or calling the backdoor though..

back in june of 2011, i apped for the cap1 secured and was denied. I had no history at the time-my last inquiry was May 2009 for a new account with Verizon Wireless so reports were completely blank. I apped again in August 2011, a bit after i apped for the BOA secured also in August 2011, and it was approved that time.

 I got denied for Cap1 Cash Rewards Visa a month. I emailed them and they called me back next morning. I got approved for $3K with no additional HP. I think they will be able to help you.

  I sent the CEO an e-mail using a contact that was provided to me but someone in this thread! Thanks!!! I explained my case and that I was a previous CAP 1 customer so I have my fingers crossed to see if they'll recon! I'll update you all
