I had a good experience with Capital One as well. I think what everyone is saying is accuate. The Capital One Platinum is a product that will never be anything worth talking about other than being a starter product. BUT if you use it ALOT responsibly of course - Capital One will allow you to PC to QS1(AF$39) to PC to QS (AF $0). And the QS can have large CLs.
So yes Cap One Platinum is a preschool card - but used as a stepping stone it is a good start.

You're better off skipping the PC to the QS1. If that's all they offer, people shouldn't take it. It's not worth the $39 annual fee usually.
My $0.02...My current Venture One was a 300 or 500 starter Platinum (can't remember which), and I've done product upgrades and CLI's to get it to the point in my sig. I don't really use it (once per month), yes I know the point value is horrible yada yada...but I keep it in my wallet to remind me of how far I've come credit-wise for a visual. No AF, and it isn't hurting anything being there, baby steps haha.
