No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Ls it will be a new account number if i remember correctly
With Amex, unless they institute a seperate set of rules for the Zync (which I doubt), these are their policies.
1. Charge cards can *only* be PC'ed to another charge card, and NEVER a revolver. I've never seen an exception made for this.
2. For a PC, you will never be eligible for any sign up promo, annual fee waiver, and otherwise special deals.
3. If you cancel your card, all MR points are forfeited, unless you have another Amex card (SPG), whereupon you may receive a 30 day grace period to transfer them, in the case of the Platinum.
4. If you PC charge cards, all your points will remain intact and be upgraded accordingly. If you upgrade Unicorn to PRG, then they all become MR points. If you upgrade to the Platinum, they all become MR First.
All things being equal, to receive the sign up specials and first year fee waiver, the only way I know of is for a new application when cookies are cleared (not essential, but to be safe) and not logged into your account.

Great info Open thanks!!!
Another way to go if you're willing to take an inquiry is to app for the Blue. If approved, then you can cancel the Zync with all your points remaining intact once your Blue account has been opened.

Worst case scenario is you redeem all your MRE points for something crappy and you start fresh with MR points on a shiny new card. But Open's information seemed to say that your points would transfer to MR. Just double (and triple) check that before PCing so that you don't lose anything. Nothing against Open, since I trust his advice as much as anyone else on this forum, just saying it is always better to be cautious than take advice from us credit fools. (And I mean that in the most endearing way possible)
Thanks! Appreciate the confidence.
As another poster quoted our late President, "trust, but verify" is one of the wisest and more prudent adages I've ever run across. In my view, we'd all live in a much more efficient world if we all practiced it.
