Starbucks or Coffee Shop code for Amex Gold?

Anyone know if Amex consider Starbucks or coffee shops as "Restaurants" and 4X for Amex Gold? Thanks

Starbucks is showing up as 4X for me.

Mini coffee/pastry chains Paris Baguette and Madison Kayser only are 1x for me.

Starbucks app reloads don’t count as a restaurant with Amex the last time I did one. It’s been a while as I normally use the Altitude at Starbucks with Apple Pay.

I don’t know about if you swipe it at in store

@I canceled my Starbucks app last week (long story ) but the app reloads or card swipe @ the store counted under restaurant 4X for me.

Starbucks has coded as 4x for me as well.

I reloaded couple of times on Starbucks app and it did give me 4x

Did you use Apple Pay with your Amex card in the Starbucks app or did you load the card directly into the app and process the payment that way ?

Does it make a difference if lets say the Starbucks is a stand alone store or one that is inside a Mall/Target/Airport etc..
