Re: Sticking to UR points or MR points? Or both?

both UR and MR are good redemption programs. MR prob offers more flexibility with more transfer partners but the points are not easy to accumulate unless you have the platinum and take a lot of flights to take adv of that 5x earning. amex is known for being good to its card holders so thats another plus.

UR also has good partners and URs seem super easy to earn with CSR but to pay the AF 495 each year - yikes. You do get 300 travel credit so you can justify it but i dont like being tied down to a big AF.

What are your thoughts on cards like the PRG and the EDP? Which transfer partners do you frequently use that you may find the best value, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks in advance!

I know you didn't ask me specifically, but I thought I would share my thoughts really quickly: Valuing MR points at their lowest rate (1 point = 1 cent) PRG is effectively a 2% card for my three largest spending categories (gas, groceries, restaurants). The points are worth even more when used for travel, depending on the conversion.

My UR and MR points get transferred 1:1 to United and Delta respectively for overseas, both often at 60,000 points per roundtrip. The big difference is the card accepted at Costco.
