You've probably never heard of a cuss box, either. 
(It's fining family members for using swear words. The proceeds go in the collection plate on Sunday morning, or possibly for a family outing, depending on the motivation behind the existence of the cuss box.)

I don't see any reason to close your Macy's card just from what you've posted, although I realize that there are plenty of other reasons to want to run a card through the shredder.
