I've had one of my accounts for 4 years and wasn't really getting too much from the luv button so I tried the EO route. Sent an email explaining the situation and what I was trying to do. They called me pretty quickly but only to tell me they have no authority to do that. Which is weird given the all the success stories I see on here. Did I do something wrong? I e-mailed the CEO email address. I didn't want to argue with her about what I've seen other people do. They've just been very slow considering I've had excellent history with them.

Sorry to hear about the Cap1 AA and closure IME, I was able to get a Cap1 card re-opened with EO assistance after it had previously been closed for about 3-4 months, but that was in early 2015 so they may have changed their policy since then...plus, at that time, you could still call into the EO number and talk to a live EO rep...

Sorry this happened to you, OP. As to your siggy comment about allergies, the garden is well stocked with benedryl.
Ok I'm lost you didn't get AA/Closed right
Just didn't get what you wanted correct

It doesn't seem that the OP actually had AA or any lines closed. Just got denied a CLI, but used 'shut down' as a synonym for denial rather than its prevalent usage on MyFICO of having all your accounts closed with a lender.
OP probably doesn't realize (as many others too) that Capital One runs their different cards in Tiers of sorts.
Their particular card that OP never sees any improvement on may very well be in one of those classes that draws little or no interest for advancing in limit.
Conjecture and not exactly sure but that issue has been posted as much around the forums.
How many times do we read in approvals section where long time C1 cardholders just can't buy a CLI for the longest of times only to end up apping for a new card account that approves them to a much better (happier) starting limit then the card that they relied on for so long to grow.
I been thru the same ordeal with the EO before (for example the GM Card) only to waste HP's until realizing it was only going in circles because of that particular card product that they had little interest in moving forward whereas a new card product (Venture) took on a whole different experience.
ah sorry to hear that! I emailed them 8 days ago about converting my normal Visa to a Siggy but they haven't responded at all. I was thinking about writing a 2nd email...
To all, thanks for the well wishes and concerns! I didn't lose any accounts. I just meant I was shut down at the exec level when trying to get a larger CLI than what I've gotten the past ($100 here or there). $100 ever 6 months is rough. I don't necessarily want to try an open any more cards right now (I think I need that Benedryl ;-) ) and if I did, I'd probably wait until my scores improve a bit before I do and go for something better.
Anyway, it is a first world problem in the grand scheme of things.
