Re: Surprised by AMEX CLI...

When the asked for Household income, how can they check individual return and shutdown the account? They have to ask for more details before they can do any thing. As op stated they asked for HH income. Not individual income.

Re: Surprised by AMEX CLI...

Wow, well, thanks for the info/advice everyone. Lesson learned here, and now that I'm this scared that I did this whole thing, I'm really going to keep my credit in good standing (trying to look on the bright side here lol). I hope this thread helps other learn the lesson from my mistake as well. Man I love this site, and people like you guys and gals on it. Well, I'm off to say my prayers of keeping AMEX off my behind. Much love!! Smiley Happy

You can put anything into the HHI field but you may be asked to prove it.  At 19, an income of 30k is not believeable.  They may ask for tax returns and the OP can say 'Well I live with my parents and this is my household income'.  30k for a family of three isn't that much money.  Tht fact alone could be enough to contract the OPs limit.

I have seen people put a roommates household income on their app.  Didn't turn out well. HHI is income that would be reported on the tax return if the return is not married filing separately, at least from a banks point of view.  If the OPs parents are still claiming them as a dependant, it may go over. Otherwise it is dangerous territory.
