As a re-builder who is now gardening, I was thrilled when I got approved for Amazon Prime Store card last month. But I was surprised when they reported as a 'new account' to EX, with updated balances, once a week in December. Is this SOP for them? Or is it a fluke because it was the first month and the first statement was just generated yesterday?
I have a strict rebuilding plan and budget that includes PIF store accounts before end of statement date and keeping my util% below 9%. That got blown out of the water this month because I only had a 17 day billing cycle with this account, so got caught by surprise. I'm PIF next week. Will they calm down and do a monthly report now?
(I actually had FIVE 'new account' alerts posted to EX on this one account...3 weeklies to EX, and one each that they reported the 'new account' to TU and EQ.Do all of these 'new account' alerts affect my score?)
Yeah, synchrony accounts report fast, at the first of the month. This happened to me also with my Amazon account, it totally FUBARd my utilization that month. But utilization is easily fixed next month. You'll be on a regular schedule from now on.

Wow. Thanks for letting me know. Sheer luck that I had just paid almost everything to $0 balance just before this happened, so the util% wasn't as bad as it could have been. In the long run, I think this may be my favorite account b/c I do most of my online shopping with Amazon anyways, and the 5% reward will be a nice bonus...probably pay for my monthly Prime membership. Now if Sync will just behave!

They reported 2x the first month for me, then only once each month since (had the card 3 months total).
Good to know that they will eventually settle down.
