Sync/GE CLI Question

I've searched for this question already, and while it is talked about, the answers vary.

Is it at the 4th statement or 4th month that Sync will allow a CLI request?

Reason I ask, my 4th statement cut two days ago and I went to request via luv button today and after entering my income it said "we can not process a credit limit request on this account at this time."

Did I jump the gun? My account is not 4 months old yet. I opened it mid September but they generated my first statement within a week.

Re: Sync/GE CLI Question

It sounds like you jumped the gun. You can call GECRB credit solutions from the backdoor numbers and they may approve you for a CLI. Good Luck!

From the bulk of what I've read it's 4 statements. I opened mine in September also but didn't use it right away and it reported 0 on the credit report for September and didn't generate a statement. Can't count that one. Did you use it at the moment you applied? If it reported  zero for September then you have to wait another statement. Ironically, I've already received substantial auto cli's on both Amazon and Walmart after my second statement, go figure.

My 1st statement was generated with a balance. In addition, statements 2, 3, and 4 were generated with balances. Always paid in full on time.

This makes me think that it may be the age of account versus statements??

I will try calling CS tomorrow and see what they say.

Incidentally, this is for the Sam's Club MasterCard.

Oh, sorry. I had Amazon on my brain for some reason. My post related to my Amazon store card. Sam's MC may be a whole different animal. I've only searched up that 4 statement thing in relation to my Amazon and Walmart store cards, don't know about MasterCards. Good luck

Re: Sync/GE CLI Question

@borimer did you request the increase (if so by what method) or was it automatic?

It was automatic but I had clicked the luv button several times online. Once when I got the card, once after my first statement and once after my second statement. The day after I pressed it for the third time and was denied for the third time I came home from work and logged on and both Amazon and Walmart were automatically increased. Very strange the way that all went down.

Re: Sync/GE CLI Question

Do not try to understand the thinking of Synch. I received a Auto CLI after 2.5 months, but nada 4 months later.

Re: Sync/GE CLI Question

This is very confusing for me Smiley Indifferent

Synchrony sometimes sneaks in a CLI at the after 2nd statement cut point too but not always. It happened on my Amazon but not Walmart or ShopHQ. Now that i've recently just added Sams + PayPal + Ebates i'm gonna try AFTER 2nd statement for all 3 and if no joy? then AFTER the 4th statement as is usual practice. I must say that i am thoroughly pleased with Synchrony overall.
