Re: Synchrony Bank Randomly closed 2 cards

OP
IMHO, I believe it is because you’re continuously applying for credit even when you’re not approved. It makes you appear desperate even if you aren’t. Lenders, specifically Synchrony, is not thrilled with this behavior. I think I read on here somewhere a while back that Synchrony is like a jealous lover. They want to be your one and only.

I really believe, again IMHO, you should garden for at least a year to take a breather from applying.

In the meantime, you should try PIF, not just above the minimum.

O_o I'm the OP.... it was related to a name issue that was solved. I'm not sure u meant to direct that at the OP as i've never applied for credit after denial, etc. In any case i agree, there's a number of things that will freak Synchrony out to the point where they cancel all of your accounts altogether including opening too many accounts in a short period, too many inquiries, extremely high credit usage, etc.

Congrats OP on your diligent persistence. I’m happy to say my initial response was incorrect.

I am happy that you got it all straightened out.

Thanks. I do encourage anyone that has their card accounts closed randomly (seemingly) to seek out help if they truly utilize those accounts and feel it's in error. There is at least some hope of getting those accounts reinstated.

Yes they just did this to me . I am learning cards like Comenity and Synchrony do this with no rhyme or reason. It's very frustrating I almost in tears about it myself.

Welcome to the forums.  I see you joined in 2008.  Over 10 years to make your first post and sorry to see it's about account closure.  You might be better to start your own thread if you want to discuss what happened in further detail as this is a year old thread.  Wish you the best.

Re: Synchrony Bank Randomly closed 2 cards

Don't let it bring u to tears... It can be very frustrating to see cards you rely on for credit building to suddenly get closed. But if you're utilizing your cards and paying them on time then seek help... Don't accept them just closing it without reason. Besides, there are way better cards and banks and if they're gonna cut u off when you're properly utilizing your cards then they probably don't deserve your business in the first place.
