Synchrony/CHEVRON CLI Req.?

I opened a Chevron Card (a Synchrony Bank account) 5 months ago and it's my ONLY Synchrony Account. I have a few questions.

1) How long must the Chevron Card be Open to Receive a CLI?

2) Do I have to USE it to receive a CLI? I have never used the card.

3) Is it a SP or HP?

4) Should this account open the door for me with Synchrony Bank? Maybe for an Amazon, Lowe's, or Verizon Card?

I only have 4 accounts and 1 is AU. 3 of my own that are each 5 months old (NFCU, Chevron and Dell) and a 2 year old AU with Discover.

Scores are about 750.

No debt at all ($98 on the Discover card).

This is not a good time to use Synchrony for utilization padding (as you've stated you aren't using card at all).

Having one account with Synchrony doesn't help with obtaining another one of their cards.

Should be a SP, but whenever you're asking for increase, be prepared for the possibility of HP.

Why do you have a card you've never used? I remember when lenders would close an account if it wasn't used within 45-60 days. Is that still a thing?

Cause it's a Chevron and Texaco card and I thought I had a Texaco down the road, but it closed down, so I have no where to use it. But I kept it in hopes it would help me get an Amazon card after my credit ages a bit.

Sync isn't a relationship bank.   Each product has its own underwriting standards, and having one Sync card doesn't make you more likely to get another.

The old rule of thumb for Sync was that you would first be eligible for CLIs after the 4th statement.  However, you need transactions in order to get statements.

Ha, yep that happened to me with my cap1 card, it took 10 months for me to get my "guaranteed CLI after 5 statements" because I hardly ever used the card
