Re: Synchrony CLI? What the Heck?

This is a classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. Only a broken computer algorithm wouldn't take bank specific history into account.

Although, I will say this. Credit issuers go through periods where the mandate of lending changes. So, timing is everything. While they may have given out 35k to everyone last year... it's very possible that the new mandate is to put new lending on hold insofar as high limits are concerned. Plus, since they lent out so much last year... it follows that they wouldn't do the same, year over year.

In fact, every bank goes through lull periods, when they're not handing out 20k limits like candy. These periods probably come faster, when after everyone has been feverishly reporting and then jumping on these credit card bandwagons so quickly, in the modern age. So, naturally, the funds dry up much more quickly, because the jig is up sooner... after being disseminated at a much faster rate than ever before.

Which is why you get reasons like, "insufficient history," despite having history with that bank. That's just a round about way to say, "we would have given you the loan, if we had the money... but, at the present time, we're just not authorized to lend the money."

So, even if a human could review it... and verify that your history with the bank is solid, and adds up... because of poor timing, and more than likely a bit of backroom accounting, you may end up with a similar unsatisfying result.

Some of their reasons are real head scratchers especially with some prime banks. Go figure

Re: Synchrony CLI? What the Heck?

This past November I saw a very nice promo they have at Guitar Center so applied for the Guitar Center card and was approved for 3K but since I was going to purchase few things for my studio that would cost about 6K I called the recon line and asked if they can increase the SL to 6K. The nice lady told me to give her 4minutes to do the review and she would be back with an answer. Four minutes later she increased my limit to $6500 without a HP. I did asked her if it would be a SP before hand and I was told/promised it was only a SP and I OKed it. The promo guitar center had at that time was for 48months interest free as long as paid within that period.

Re: Synchrony CLI? What the Heck?

All of the SYNC cards I’ve got in my profile started off with low limits. Including the PayPal one as well and it was $300 😂

Every card I’ve just used it, PIF, and then wait after 3 months and ask for the CLI. I’ve always got the CLI with no problem.

Walmart went from $300 to $3500
Lowe’s went from $200 to $5000

Not sure if that’s a kind of scheduled CLI plan they have in place but it seems to have worked for me.

I’m due to ask for the PayPal CLI soon... I’ll keep you updated!
