Hi everyone... first and foremost, just want to thank everyone on these boards for your help. I've been reading the info here for a while but just joined recently.
I have a Synchrony PayPal 2% Cash Back card with an $800 SL (that's what I got when I applied - called right away to do CLI but no luck). I've been using it and paying it off.
3rd statement just hit and I requested a CLI first through the website, and then called Credit Solutions Overseas number... denied through both. My latest TU score is 754.
I got a letter in the mail today saying "Insufficient experience at your current credit limit."
Does anyone know when I should expect a CLI with them on this card?
Alternatively, I was thinking of applying for a different card with Synchrony like the Marvel Card.
Would love your input!
My PayPal cashback was approved at $8000, it has a lot of room to grow.
Honestly I think Sync wants to see lots of spend and lots of payment. The 2% card is a generous cash back card, it should be most people’s general spend card and that’s likely how they look at it when reviewing for CLIs.
If there's no penalty, put a $1000 on it and see the results. Can't hurt, if they don't charge you for overcharging. If they see you buying within their limits, then they have no incentive to remove the limit. Bigger ticket item, the better. YMMV.

So go over 100% utilization on a credit card to try to get a credit limit increase? Seems risky. I did check the terms though and they have similar verbiage to my Amazon Store Card that they may choose to approve purchases beyond the credit limit but I am not sure it’s a good idea to try this, especially since Sync is known to do mid-cycle reporting.
My card is new and started at $15K. I seem to remember from ebates that getting CLIs higher than that requires POI or something? Is that the case?
But that limit is fine, the bigger issue is the 3K debit card thing.

IIRC, the POI is usually triggered (but not always) around or past the $25K threshold.

No POI required when I got $25k. I recently asked for $30k with the luv button but got denied. Letter said limit requested exceeds what their policy allows. Same reason as before, but I haven't called CS to review my request.
Btw, my credit is far from perfect. Currently 752 TU and still a BK7 on file for another 2 years or so.

It seems I'm right at the threshold then. I suppose I could find out by calling to review my denial.
