Re: Synchrony has their own scoring model now

Yes Fin, that's exactly what I meant.

It has become really hard to predict how lenders are going to behave now that they all use their own scores for UW. I mean look at NFCU - nobody else will approve the FICO scores they do for the terms they do.

Hum...

I wonder if this is for all Synchrony products now or just the Marvel card. They pulled a TU score of 640 at the time but I guess they didn't use the internal scoring stuff.

It's the first time I've seen it and I opened up CareCredit in August and B&H in June.

NFCU is a lender like no other. They have military discipline as well as a requirement for honor. They as a result look for those same values in your credit report. They stand by those they have reason to prefer even if their ship sinks and refuse to work with those that they know will capsize them. Every lender is unique but some are just more progressive then others.

Lastly NFCU still at least uses FiCO in the 9 variety. They clearly like it and find it appropriet instead of making their own number system.

Huh? They have their own score and many of us have denials based on that score and not FICO 9, myself included.

Re: Synchrony has their own scoring model now

If it based definitely and only on their score? Or do they pull Chex as a secondary also - anyone know if they do or just approve/deny based on F9 and internal scores?

They use EWS instead of Chex.
