Dont worry about being over your income, credit wise. I look at it like im earning it with good credit habits and showing them im responsible with x amount of credit. I know in certain situations too much credit can hurt but sometimes if one cc c sees you have x amount with other ccc they maybe inclined to give you more.

Honestly if you saw my amount of credit compared to my income, youd probably think id be cld for the heck of it. Remember they use many factors in determining to give you a cli, so i would just continue to do what you are doing, manage your profile properly and things like cli will work out for ya!.

Also, remember Discover's cli department is manned by monkeys on keyboards who throw darts at the cli dartboard on their lunchbreakSmiley Happy

If you're primary concern is Discover, there's probably nothing to worry about.  In my own case they have given me very generous CLIs with a modest income; I'm now at $21k and will probably never ask for another one.  I'm also at multiples of my reported income in overall available credit, so Discover certainly isn't bothered by that.

Other lenders might be a different story, of course... CUs in particular can be picky (although NFCU seems to be an exception... much like Discover they gave me a generous SL and CLIs even with my modest income).
