Synchrony odd reporting

Just did a balance transfer from one of my Synchrony cards, AEO Visa, to another Visa card with a 0% interest rate.

Synchrony reported the lower balance to the credit bureaus one day after the balance transfer completed (today), which is odd as the statement is not due until the 11th. Anytime I have made payments previously, the updated balance did not report to credit bureaus until the next statement of reporting period.

You'd think the fast reporting would be great news - but the statement dates are the same for the two cards and I was hoping it would show more evenly.

Now, one card reports a large amount paid down - and then in 18 days, a large balance increase gets reported on the other card. Not a huge deal,  but after the ups and downs of my recent app spree, was hoping to have things balance out a bit. Has anyone else had this happen with Synchrony?

Re: Synchrony odd reporting

I've heard of them doing mid-cycle reporting lately. I think it's fairly new behavior for them though.

Thanks Taxi and JustMe. Now if we could just get the cards we would like to report CLI's more frequently to do so ................. Smiley Happy

This is one instance in which I wasn't especially glad for quick updates or reports. Trying to keep the ship righted post app spree and big dips and increases don't help.......

Re: Synchrony odd reporting

With every CLI I have gotten with Sync they have updated my accounts to all 3 CRA the next day.

Re: Synchrony odd reporting

Interesting..... my CLI's with Synchrony have not updated until the next statement. Recently got the Walmart CLI to 6k and not expecting to see that reflected until my next statement.

Wish we could figure out what their modus operandi is.

Synchorny is all over the map apparently. You'd think if they were updating more frequently, as is indicated here, it would be consistent. Or maybe not, considering we are talking about a credit card company/ bank. Smiley Happy

I hear ya! With me it seems like when I want a card to report quickly it doesn't, but when I don't want it to report yet, it does. Sigh.
