Synchrony reporting dates

I'm still relatively new to CC and am wondering about how the reporting to CRAs work.  Specifically, how soon before or after the statement date, do they report to the CRAs?  I have a Sam's Club Credit card and DW has the JCP card, both within the last two months.

Ideally, I'd like to use the cards (especially Sam's) but pay them down to a minimum amount before reporting.   I found a thread from early last year suggesting Synch may report multiple times/month.  Anyone have updated information?

From my experience 3-5 days after the statement cuts for that month. My Amazon Store Card (Synchrony) cuts on the 3rd and reports on the 9th.

Re: Synchrony reporting dates

In my experience with my 5 sync cards yes they tend to update i.e. Report twice in a month with a trigger i.e. Increased balance. If no trigger than once a month. Congrats on your sync cards👍

Re: Synchrony reporting dates

Thanks for the info.  I want to wait a few months before calling for a CLI but I've seen tons of threads where others have had success right away.  500 SL isn't bad but I can typically buy $100 groceries, etc. at Sams's or WM pretty quick so suddenly I'm already at 20% util.  Wouldn't mind having some breathing room just for score reporting purposes, maybe 1k.

Re: Synchrony reporting dates

If or once you have your SAMs you can call the credit solutions center and request a cli. In your case I would request 10000 and let them counter. It's instant if they approve it. Be truthful with your income because they are going through some stuff at sync but you are not overly exposed so I would give it a shot especially with the new home purchase 👍 They run TU always and it's always a Soft Pull😊 Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Synchrony reporting dates

Synchrony in particular can and does report off-cycle at times you may not expect, such as when you just made a $600 purchase and were expecting it not to report until the "normal" reporting date (when you planned to pay it down to zero), yet Synchrony mysteriously reports it to the bureaus 3 days after the purchase.

It's good to be aware that Synchrony does this from time to time, and it can be difficult to predict.

Re: Synchrony reporting dates

I just looked at hubby's Sam's credit account. His due date (when he has one) is the 11th, statement cuts on the 18th, reports on the 19th. For every Synchrony card we have the statement cuts 7 days after the due date and reports the next day. Assuming something doesn't change to cause a mid-cycle update that is.
