MY Target card started at $500, then went to $600, $750, $900 and now $1k without me requesting.

Mine took a similar journey (I think), and it's now at $1,100.
Definitely too low to buy a high end TV.

Once when I paid part with REDcard and part with another CC, I got the 5% off on only the RED portion.

Guess I'll try this again to see if things have changed.

Went to Target twice yesterday and tried this. Both times, only the REDcard portion gave me 5% off. Each time, the bill was >$20 and I put about $2 on the REDcard. The 5% savings was under 10 cents for each transaction.

#FAIL

This is completely contrary to what the supervisor I spoke with me said would happen.  She assured me that the full amount would be applied.  She did say if I didn't have enough available credit on the Target card and I had any questions that I could talk to a manager in the store about it.  I wonder if that really means that you have to get the manager to manually input the discount.  If that is the case, then I would think that it would mean that the manager would probably want to see a larger payment with the Target card.  I did pose the scenario of only charging $5 to her and she did tell me that it would give the 5% off the full amount.  I wonder if she was misinformed?

TiggerDat: Go try it today. Spend $11, put $1 on RED, and see if the 5% discount shows 50+ cents or 5 cents.

Oh, I believe it would be as said, I am just saying that is what I was told by a supervisor.  There are certainly occurences of people in call centers giving wrong info.!

I would also say I would try it, today, if I could!  I will try it at some point!  (Or my sister might get to it before I do, she is an AU on my card.)  When I get a chance I will attept to find out, however that will not be until after 11/11.  (I am currently outside the counrty and won't return until then)  If I order anything online before I get back, I will update on it when I do.
