Target Card and Hooters

i applied to both of these cards before and was denied on both. I had one acct in collections that was deleted today with GW letter..MY score went up from 612 to 673.

Should I apply again? How long should I wait and what are my chances of being approved for these cards?

Just wait 90 days and reapply. I was approved on my second try for both of these cards with very similar before & after FICO scores. 673 should definitely do it.

Re: Target Card and Hooters

Do you think I have a chance if I dont have a big credit history? I only have 1 card (1 1/2 yrs old) never late and now one new card with HSBC. Do they deny if you dont have a long credit history?
I have 0 delinquincies now/.

Re: Target Card and Hooters

I think u can do better than those cards. If i were u I would look into getting some prime cards. Right now I'm loving the credit unions credit cards.

In most cases (not all), Hooters will deny you if you don't have two TL's (tradelines) already reporting. Wait until HSBC shows up on your reports, and do a recon with Hooter's.

By the way, is your score a FICO score? In most cases, that means that you bought it here. If not, check to see if it says FICO, not just "credit score", or something similar.

Laniepr787,

The credit market is holding out on lending, due to the lack/break down in our economy. Right now, as the other poster mentioned to you, wait about 6 months and go at it again. Lenders like to see a long credit history when applying for "Unsecure Debt"

They do deny a lot of people due to lack of credit history, especially now. How many inquiries do you have? All of these things has an effect.

By the way, are you requesting large amounts on your application? If so, lower your amount requested and see if that helps.

Re: Target Card and Hooters

I got my scores from here (MyFico.com)

I have never paid late on my Capital one card.

When I applied for the Hooters and Target I didn't specify a credit limit amount.

I do have a few inquiries (about 4-5)...

I will wait the 90 days and then apply again. On MyFICO it said that I had high utilization on my Cap One Card (my  CL is $1200 and the bal was $930 which I've paid off a while back and now my balance is 0) so i hope to have an increase after this updates.

Any cards that will approve me right now?

That's why I mentioned the credit unions. they're still handing out big CL. You might have to do a little extra work to get them but at the end it's worth it

Re: Target Card and Hooters

I have a savings and checking account at a credit union and have had them for about 4 yrs now w/o any problems...are they easy on approvals? I was thinking of applying for a credit card through them but was scared to get denied for lack of credit history.
